The project : 50m private motor yacht based in Monaco is looking for a first mate, starting ASAP until the end of October 2018. Can become a permanent position without rotation. Salary: 6000 euros/month The boat will sail during July and August. Malta Flag Private insurance WYCC is included in the package.

Desired profile : English speaking is compulsory, French and another language are a plus, chief mate 3000 ticket is required. To deputise for the Master in their absence or if the Master is unable to perform their duties through accident or illness, or any other cause • To be the Yacht’s Safety Officer • To manage the Deck department and the organisation thereof, ensuring proper deck watch and maintenance is carried out including the condition of the yacht’s fabric and general cleanliness • Organize reporting and implement on a day to day basis maintenance historic with ship’s tools • To manage and apply ship regulations with the crew, maintain the working spirit in a safe atmosphere • To manage the crew rest time and compensation in agreement with the master • To manage and report to the master any human problem which can create a lack of communication in the crew and generate trouble in the crew professionalism • At sea or at anchor to keep a Bridge watch as instructed by the Master. Such watch to be kept in accordance with the orders of the Master and appropriate laws and guidance • To ensure safe systems of work are always adopted • To ensure that the yacht is always in a seaworthy, safe and efficient condition • Use & Implementation Safety Management System procedures in all activities that fall under their responsibility • To keep all charts, publications and other documentation current and up to date • To plan all passages and submit all passage plans to the Master for approval • In conjunction with the Chief Engineer, to test and maintain to a schedule all Life Saving Appliances, Fire fighting Equipment and Security Equipment and to keep appropriate records • To keep an inventory of all the Deck equipment, toys, Life Saving Appliances, Fire Fighting and Security equipment together with a list of spares kept on board • To plan and oversee maintenance of hull, decks, superstructure, accommodation spaces and deck machinery in conjunction with the Chief Engineer • To order required spares in good time with Master approval • To organize ship watch rotation, vacation leave, and compensation of the crew members in front of owner presence and ship maintenance requirement • To impart necessary guidance to any trainees assigned to their care • In charge of guest embarkation/disembarkation by tender or RIB’sTo keep records of all crews’ working hours as per STCW and Flag State Regulations, on a daily quick meeting base with each one and report regularly to the captain if any of the crew is working too much or not in the good way for the safety of himself and the ship • Any other duties as assigned by the Master o Additionally the Chief Officer will acquaint themselves with: • The ISM Safety Management System, maintain safety control and schedules, and maintenance reporting permanently • The ISPS Security Plan • The requirements of MARPOL • The Master’s Standing Orders • All relevant regulations (especially the COLREGS), advice and guidance issued by the Flag State and relevant Port States • The MCA Large Yacht Code; o And the Chief Officer will have a thorough working knowledge of: • The operation of all the radio telecommunications and Bridge equipment • The operation of all Life Saving Appliances, Fire Fighting and Security equipment • The operation of all the deck gear including anchor-winches, mooring gear, side openings, gangways
